Beings of the Galaxy
This is a project that emerged during the pandemic, born out of the necessity to move and explore my own body.
A situation and a gesture that trigger. A context in a body that expresses itself, a stimulus and a response that give rise to an imaginary.
Challenging, expansive, honest, and kind. In connection with the different magnetic fields we possess within our bodies.
In the night, when the unconscious ventures through our rooms.
Whenever I dream, it is always nighttime in my dreams.
As these beings emerged, I unfurled the process alongside companions and sought their sensitivities in response to the images I had conjured. These images, born of a personal, creative odyssey entwined with my bare dances, whispered to us in the language of the soul.
"She is surrendered to pleasure."
“It's not silence; have you ever sensed that sensation when your ears get blocked? It's like a vacuum, but with sound. A sound that could travel from the right ear to the left and back, liquid.”
"It makes me think of the inner fire, galactic beings, ethereal entities, speaking of the spirit. It also brings to mind water and fire, perhaps due to the colors, but I feel it encompasses a bit of all the elements. I see earth as well, with the roots and veins connecting me to the material world, to germination, to fertility."
"It immediately made me think of menstruation, the menstrual cycle, and everything it triggers within the bodies of women on all levels."
At a certain point, I felt the need for them not to be specifically women; I wanted to encompass other bodies, those not so easily labeled. With this impulse, beings in sorrow also emerged—beings who aren't as joyful but are expressing their emotions, anchored in an image that narrates their feelings.
Maybe one day this Beings will be part of a deck of cards, a new tarot concept which invites you to move you body.
